MIAMI, Florida: Two men appeared in a US federal court in Miami on Thursday charged with funneling support to Al-Qaeda and other militant groups, justice officials said.
US citizen Gufran Ahmed Kauser Mohammed, 30, and Mohamed Hussein Said, 25, a Kenyan national, are accused of providing material support to three designated foreign terrorist organizations, a statement said.
Both men face a 15-count indictment which alleges they conspired to provide money and new recruits to al-Qaida, al-Qaida in Iraq/al-Nusra Front and al-Shebab.
If convicted, each defendant faces a maximum of 15 years in prison for each count on the indictment.
